Field Recordings
July
Born from a winemaker’s eye for the overlooked and the extraordinary, Field Recordings is the personal catalog of Andrew Jones, a vine nursery fieldman who has spent his career walking the vineyards of California, planning and planting for farmers across the Central Coast. Founded in 2007, the project grew naturally from the friendships and quiet opportunities that came with knowing the land so intimately: small lots of exceptional fruit offered on the side by the very farmers Andrew helped. The result is a collection of soulful, site-driven wines with none of the pretension.
Andrew’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in personality over polish and flavor over trend. Working with unusual, under-appreciated vineyard sites that others have overlooked, he produces single-vineyard bottlings with a genuine sense of place, alongside beloved blended projects under the Wonderwall and Fiction labels. These are wines made for real life, special enough to cellar, but just as at home on a Tuesday night.
Based in Paso Robles and drawing fruit from some of the Central Coast’s most compelling and quietly remarkable sites, Field Recordings has earned a devoted following for its accessibility, authenticity, and commitment to letting each vineyard speak for itself. Good wine, great stories, and zero fuss, that’s the Field Recordings way.
